Lease Area OCS-A 0564

Lease Area OCS-A 0564 is located within the Gulf of Maine Wind Energy Area (WEA). The lease area is 98,565 acres in size and is located approximately 35 miles (29.5 nautical miles) east of outer Cape Cod, MA.

In October 2024, Avangrid was named winner of lease areas OCS-A 0564 and OCS-A 0568 in the auction of sites for offshore wind development in the Gulf of Maine held by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). Avangrid will work to develop the lease areas, with the potential to deliver 3 Gigawatts of power, to meet the energy needs of the New England region.
